Max Taling’s paintings of are not mere graphic works. Space and faces come alive through patterns resembling the barely perceptible flame of smoldering embers. The figures themselves, much like the movements of hands in the portraits, form new letters, as if attempting to convey some messages to us.
The choice of blue color serves for a special detachment; although the overall tone appears monochromatic, it is composed of various shades of blue. Complex patterns in the composition create a unique depth and evoke a sense of tranquility and silence.
Each painting represents months of meticulous work, and no photograph can capture all the subtle and intricate nuances of the original image. The works are pure and transparent; they gradually unfold to the viewer, making them unsuitable for hurried or bustling glances.
