Under the vaulted ceiling, the echo responds to the measured tap of high heels. Steps are getting closer. The portieres in the oval hall suddenly swing open, a guard emerges from behind the columns. Each warrior-woman holds a staff-candelabrum, with which they strike the antique parquet. The swings of the triangles pulled from their heads and the lights of the candles are skillfully extinguished together. Midnight.
